Reminiscent

This photograph has an almost "3D" quality about it. If I close my eyes, I can almost reach out and feel the bark of the tree, and the bricks in the wall. This image is crisp and sharp.

I might even go far as to say that this photograph feels almost "timeless". On one hand, it seems as though it could have been taken in the present day. On the other, it looks as though it could have been taken 50 or 60 years ago.

I was immediately reminded of two things-firstly, there's the gaunt, care-worn women of Kathe Kollwitz's drawings, and secondly, the photographs of the everyday struggle of depression-era families taken by Dorothea Lange.
